For over 45 years, Jim Gardner stood as the defining, trusted voice of journalism across Philadelphia and the Delaware Valley, making his tribute event a monumental occasion for the entire region.
The evening brought together an unprecedented roster of state and national leaders to pay tribute to Jim’s historic legacy, including current Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro alongside former PA Governors, U.S. Senators, civic leaders, and longtime 6ABC colleagues. In one of the night’s most emotional highlights, 6ABC executives officially announced that WPVI-TV’s primary broadcast news studio will be permanently renamed The Jim Gardner Studio in honor of his decades of extraordinary service.
