The White Coat Ceremony marks the moment new medical students receive their first white coats. For the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine’s Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine program, we produced the August 8, 2025 ceremony welcoming the DO Class of 2029, for 500 guests in the ballroom at the Hilton Philadelphia City Avenue.

Every student’s name on screen

The centerpiece was a student check-in system we set up for the ceremony. As each student checked in by scanning their ID, their name and specialty came up on the screen, so families in the audience could see each student recognized.

Projection, sound and lighting

We provided projection and a sound system for the speakers and the ceremony program, and stage lighting for the faculty on stage. Dynamic uplighting washed the drape behind the stage in PCOM’s blue, red and yellow, tying the room to the school’s colors.

A live stream for families at home

The ceremony was also live streamed as a joint effort: PCOM’s in-house videographers provided the camera feed, and we worked alongside them to get the ceremony out to family and friends who couldn’t be in the room.
